Takane is located in the middle of islolating mountains, where everything still remains as it was many years ago. In Summer when the Kagaribi Matsuri, or Bonfire Festival is held, the whole village glitters with thousands of fires. This Bonfire Festival is the biggest one of its kind in Japan. The main torch is 13 meters (about 43 feet) in height and 6 meters (about 20 feet) in diameter. Visitors can enjoy the mysterious dance of flames, as well as concerts and a bazaar.
