Hida Osaka is located in the southern part of the Hida District of Gifu Prefecture. Forming over 180 beautiful water falls, the clear water of Mt. Ontake runs through the town. There are three hot spring resorts in Osaka, which are the Yuya, Shitajima, and Nigorigo onsens. In November, 1995, Himeshaga Hot Spring of Shitajima-onsen was opened to the public. Its hot spring contains many kinds of minerals which are believed to be effective in healing injuries and chronic diseases. In addition to the open-air bath, an herb bath, steam bath, and sauna can be enjoyed here.
