Iwaya Dam was constructed to control flooding and to supply water for
drinking, industry and agricultural use in the large Tokai area. This is a
rockfill-type dam, and the landscaping is magnificient.
This Gifucho butterfly was discovered by Mr. Yasushi Nawa.
Hida Kanayama is located in the central part of Gifu Prefecture. Kanayama
is the meeting point of the Hidagawa River and the Mazegawa River, both of
which are blessed with beautiful clear water and abundant fruits of the river.
The town has flourished as a post town of the Hida-Kaido Road.
The scenery of the Nakayama Shichiri Ravine is breathtaking. Kanayama, the
town of clear water, never fails to fascinate visitors.
